If you just put one foot in front of the other each day, you will eventually reach your goal. I have been told by many people that I am too much of a dreamer. “Just be happy you have a job,” they say. Well, I suppose; I was not meant to be satisfied in any current situation. I am content with the change, and I will always be looking for more. To do more, give more, love more, and learn more. Remember, just because our paths are not the same does not mean that I am lost.
What is life to you? Where do you see yourself in five years? Without a goal in mind, it does not matter which path you choose; it will always lead you to nowhere. So each year, I come up with a plan, a goal list of the things I will accomplish each year that will keep me aligned with my end goal. I am not going to sit here and tell you that I complete all my goals, but for the most part, I read them daily and keep them in mind. So on those days, I feel like giving up and life is overwhelming. I remember I have to keep going, keep moving. I love Nike’s motto “Just do it” and the quote about being only 40% done, something like when you think you have nothing left to do, you are only 40% complete.
Here is my 20 for 2020
  1. Read 20 pages a day, 20 books I own total for the year
  2. Journal 20 pages a month, Blog pages
  3. Walk 20 mins a day, workout/yoga three times a week for 20 mins or more
  4. Eat 20 vegan meals a month, 20 vegetarian meals a month
  5. Drink 120 oz of clear water a day, 40 oz morning, 40 oz lunch and 40 oz dinner
  6. Visit 20 new places a month
  7. Write down 20 things you are grateful for each day
  8. Buy local 20 times a year, sell local and black-owned on the website
  9. Save $20,000
  10. Pay off 20 items of debt
  11. Visit family (not immediate) 20 times this year. 
  12. Do 20 acts of kindness/ 20 hours as a farmhand
  13. Pray/meditate 20 mins a week
  14. Check 20 things off my vision board
  15. Write 20 new blog posts every two months
  16. Detox/fast for a total of 20 days this year
  17. Spend 20 days with immediate family doing family activities this year.
  18. Get up 20 mins earlier each day until I reach 5 am, go to bed 20 min earlier until I reach 10:00 pm
  19. Learn 20 new subjects/farming course this year
  20. Clean and organize and declutter 20 areas a month
